How does Sedation Dentistry work?

You have a choice of IV or Oral Sedation. With IV Sedation you can rest assured that you will sleep through your appointment and have little if any memory of your visit. You will always be care for by our team who are all trained in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Your safety and maximum comfort are our main concerns.

If Oral Sedation is the appropriate choice, then you are given a small pill to take an hour prior to our visit. You will be drowsy when you arrive.

Whether you receive IV or oral sedation, you can be certain that upon your arrival you will be escorted into our comfort room, covered with a thick, warm blanket and your vital signs will be monitored. After you are comfortable, Dr. Dougherty and his team at Bethesda Sedation Dentistry will take care of your dental needs.

When your treatment is completed your companion will return you home to finish your comfortable, relaxing day.
